About jSDP

The IETF protocol SDP provides a standard representation for information that describe multi-media sessions. This information are included within other protocol messages as payload so, typically, a SDP message is contained as an element of a message in the following protocols:

  • Session Announcement Protocol, SAP
  • Session Initiation Protocol, SIP
  • Real Time Streaming Protocol, RTSP
  • SMTP , using the MIME extensions
  • Hypertext Transfer Protocol, HTTP

SDP protocol was specified by RFC 4566: jSDP is a Java library that enable users to manipulate SDP messages.
